  3. Mamunur:
Here is my 2 cents: If you have decided that you are going to stick to Java then you need to start with some basic JEE examples, like Servlet/JSP is a good one to start and later you can move to JSF. You can learn more about JEE/J2EE framework by Googling it.

Step 1: Download Netbeans 6.5 (http://www.netbeans.org/). BTW, everything is FREE in java so you don’t have to pay a dime except spending time to figure it out.
Step 2: Do some Servlet/JSP tutorials and try to understand how they wire together (There are so many free tutorials out there; you will be amazed to see. http://www.netbeans.org/kb/index.html)
Step 3: Take classes on Java/Servlet-JSP in a local college or a Vo-tech (This will help you to learn lot faster).
Step 4: Start going to local Java User Group meeting (www.okcjug.org). Every major city should have one.
Step 5: Google.com is also my good source to learn programming skills.

    Hope this help.
    Best regards,

  5. Tried to post the following comment to your blog about “Maven Error Generics not supported” but it forwarded to a page that said nothing but “discarded.” Just wanted to say thanks for posting!
I had this exact same problem. 10 seconds of Googling landed me here, copying/pasting your code above fixed it (it *IS* weird that Maven’s default java compiler is 1.3!). Thanks for writing this. -Kevin
